IPES - Inverse Photoemission laboratory card The Inverse Photoemission Laboratory at TASC is focussed on the study of the empty electronic states by Inverse Photoemission Isochromat technique related to other properties of the systems, as filled electronic states and structural details. The experimental apparatus is intended to provide different techniques Angle Resolved Photoemission Inverse Photoemission (KRIPES), Direct Photoemission (UPS) and Electron Energy Loss (EELS) in order to obtain complementary information and characterize the electronic configuration of condensed matter systems focussed on their interconnection with structure and dimensionality. The scientific activity is oriented to topics affordable by the study of empty electronic states. The Inverse Photoemission measurements are performed by a Geiger Müller
detector and a highly collimated electron gun. Moreover in case of low
Z element (for example organic molecules chemisorbed on surfaces or carbon-based
materials) the study is also performed by the complementary technique
of X-ray absorption NEXAFS.
